Kharkov Medical University was established in the year 1805 under the supervision of Russian Czar Alexander I and is today one of the oldest medical universities in Ukraine.
In 1951 the Kharkov Medical University began to teach and train foreign students from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The university has 66 departments, and taught at the university today about 10,866 students, including more than 2,400 international students from more than 89 countries around the world.
It consists university teaching staff of 718 professors, and 483 doctorate degree holders, and 120 of the campaign professorship professor.
The University Central Laboratory for Scientific Research, and the Institute for Scientific Research in the field of occupational medicine and occupational diseases, as well as the Institute of Medical Genetics.
National University of Kharkov Medical is a member of the International Federation of World Universities registered in UNESCO, engaged the university annually in the implementation of more than 16 international project as well as the university participates annually in 126 international scientific forums and 340 scientific forums in Ukraine and cooperate League with 18 foreign educational institutions in the field of the exchange of students and professors.
